A cohort of Philadelphia young people spent the summer not in a program but in a production. They trained on cameras, sound, and story, built a SAG short film with That's The Plan Productions, ICARE Academy and Aikan Acts, and premiered it on a historic marquee — families in the seats, a red carpet outside, their names in the credits.

54 People Honored For Their Care For Creating A Culture That Outlasts Their Lifetimes
In 2014, The 400 — the Youth Leadership Team of I.C.A.R.E. Academy — created W.E.B. DuBois Day: an annual, student-led celebration educating Philadelphia on DuBois, his philosophy, and The Philadelphia Negro, while honoring the leaders advancing positive human life through education.
The first celebration was held February 23, 2015 — DuBois's birthday. The event reached its 10th Annual at Dobbins High School on February 23, 2024, produced with dynamic student A/V design and student public speaking from the Four Hundred Legacy Project & Leadership Council.
